Toyota boss Akio Toyoda responds to US Congress

Toyota seems to have a culture that does not treat customers safety concerns with the highest priority. Toyota boss Akio Toyoda responds to US Congress on 23rd February 2010. He does not convince Congress that Toyota:

  • have found the real cause (software?) of some Toyota & Lexus models acceleration disasters in which some drivers have lost all control.
  • act promptly to customers safety concerns
  • treat car safety with the highest priority
I have excluded, for the time being, Toyota cars from my personal list of safe supermini or small family cars.

Wikipedia Euro NCAP logo infringes Euro NCAP guidelines

Today the Euro NCAP logo (left)
used at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro_NCAP infringes Euro NCAP guidelines (pages 2 & 18) because it does not include a clickable link or wording to the www.euroncap.com website. Also the logo does not include the text '‘Established in 1997, Euro NCAP provides motoring consumers with an independent assessment of the safety performance of some of the most popular cars sold in Europe. Through its stringent vehicle crash testing, Euro NCAP has rapidly become a catalyst for encouraging significant safety improvements to new car design. Euro NCAP is backed by seven European governments, as well as motoring and consumer organisations in every EU country.’

I've emailed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ssolbergj requesting him to update the logo to something like this:

Why 'Car Safety' blog? Euro NCAP guidelines for external websites

This blog was started on 27 February 2010 to share my research into Supermini and Small Family class (as defined by Euro NCAP) car safety.

I'll try to make sure that any references to Euro NCAP adhere to Euro NCAP's visual identity GUIDELINES 2009 eg guidelines for external websites eg (pg 18): "If Euro NCAP information is to be displayed on a website, then the Euro NCAP logo should be clearly indicated next to the information, with a clickable link to the website www.euroncap.com.With the logo, the following text should be displayed:

Hopefully so far I've not infringed any of the Euro NCAP stringent guidelines!
